" The Class"

The class is a movie it takes place in Paris, France. The movie depicts the attempts of a French teacher named Mr. Francis Marin he was helping the students who are seen as trouble makers and delinquents and put them in the right paths of life. In the movie, I can see that the struggles of the teacher who is caught in a very difficult situation as he tries to have authority and maintain order in his classroom. This movie reveals the teacher’s contemplation between earning the student’s respect, yet not allowing them to walk all over him. The movie takes place mostly in the classroom and in school campus, and deals with such as; respect, authority, race, culture and identity. I found it very realistic the way that the movie depicted the levels of power and confidence that the students of today’s generation can go to, meaning that, students today are not afraid to question or to challenge their teacher’s authority as what Esmeralda acts to Mr. Francis Marin; but Mr. Marin doesn't care about the attitude of his students because for him he is a teacher and his job is to teach his students even if those students have different behavior. Mr. Marin use the different methods for teaching but the most common method he used was the oral recitation; he uses oral recitation to evaluate students and to recite all the topics that they discuss. But, there was one student came to him and gives him a statement, “Sir I have learned nothing”. The role of a teacher is to nurture the students to impart knowledge, to motivate students to learn in order to them to become holistic person in a future.
For me, as a teacher I feel bad, but in terms of their learning I will accept my weaknesses because he can’t say that all our expertise in teaching the students can learn. I am glad because he/she is honest that he/she didn’t learn from me. The teacher will reteach go back to the topic where students felt difficult. As a teacher you must ask the student what part or area of the discussion that we need to explain again.
The movie ends with a very unresolved ending. As one student is expelled for misbehaving, other students still do not come to understand what respect is or why they should give it and or receive it in return and very few actually attempt to become successful in school. This movie demonstrates a little bit of every kind of student that we as teachers may come across in our teaching careers. There are those that honestly care about their education, those that simply do not see the point of going to school, others who are forced to be in school, and some who are not fortunate enough to go to school as they are not legal citizens. Above all I thought that this movie did a fantastic job at raveling how each of the above circumstances affects and inter- relates in the bigger picture of being in the classroom together.

" The art of questioning"

This week Ms. Loreto deal about the art of questioning; it defines it is assumed that good teaching involves good questioning, especially when large groups of pupils/ students are being. There are three types of question; according to thinking process involves from low level to high level; as a teacher you should start a question in a low level example for this was the what, when, who, and where while in high level why, how and summarize because if you cannot follow this types of question the student cannot understand what you want to do to them.

Laboratory method it is a set of the firsthand learning activity such as; investigate problem, conducts experiments, observes process and applied theories in a simulated setting. Laboratory method is also called research method. It is important to have an objective of laboratory method because through this it helps you to manage your students. To offer opportunities for the learners get real experiences w/c, in effect. By the objectives it can increase the interest, to provide actual participation in conducting research and to develop skills in the use of laboratory equipment and materials for the equipment.

" Demonstration Method"

Demonstration method was deal by Ms. Villaver she said; it is basically the showing method. It is a learning method through imitation. When we say demonstration it is a teaching procedure which may also be classified as an audiovisual device.  As a teacher it is important to apply the five steps in demonstration method; purposing, planning, demonstration proper, executing and the evaluation. Through these five steps you can get the learning capacity of the students. There are many demonstration methods used for the teacher but the common method was the lecture method; lecture it is the most common method used of imparting knowledge and information among the students.

" Classroom Management"

Mr. Reporter deal about classroom management; classroom management is a term used by the teachers to describe the process of ensuring that the classroom lesson run smoothly despite disrupted behavior by students. Good classroom management establishes a learning atmosphere which permits pedagogical activities to be carried of efficiently and economically. It is very important to the teacher to manage his/her students because; if the teacher cannot manage his or her students the development of the learner is not good enough. Classroom management includes operation and control of activities involving details as seating arrangement, attendance, and utilization of instructional materials, classroom courtesies and discipline require foresight and planning. " Seminar"

Mr. Reporter deal about seminar, seminar is a deliberative body looking for the solution to the problem from the evidence based on reading, experiences and minds of its participants. There are three steps in preparing for a discussion in a seminar; how to complex the seminar problem, how much of an expert the leader, how skillful the leader is in guiding through the process of the leader. It is a great advantage when the leader knows enough about the subject or can find out enough through reading and interview; it can define objectives and can state the problem definitely.

"Learning module as an instructional materials"

She said that one of the most widely accepted instructional materials is the learning module. It is an innovation popular among both developed and developing countries. Its popularity has been largely due to the impact brought by projects on the preparation and of modules of the different offices. She also said that according to Darrel L. Muray a module is a self- contained and independent unit of instructing with a primary focus on few- defined objectives. There are twelve components of a module; title, the title should be attractive enough to catch attention. Target Population, should be adopted the level of the learner. Overview, introduces the content coverage of the lesson to the learner. Objectives, the objectives should be spelled out clearly so that the learner could easily understand. Instruction to the learner, entry behavior and prerequisite skills, pretest, pretest feedback and evaluation, learning activities, post-test and last the teacher’s manual.

# 17 "Methods of Teaching"

Mr. Nuñez deal about methods of teaching; it defines comprise the principles and methods used for instruction. Commonly used teaching methods may include class participation, demonstration, recitation, and memorization. Demonstrating is the process of teaching through examples or experience. Explaining is the process of teaching by giving spoken explanations of the subject that is to be learned. Lecturing is often accompanied by visual aids to help the students visualize an object or problem. The foundation of contemporary teaching methods may be said to embrace three areas: the new psychology of learning; the democratic ideal; and the broader objectives of education. The following outline, developed by Ragan, is based upon the assumption that these areas provide the fundamental sources to guide teachers in making decision with regard to teaching methods. Inductive method is simply defined as the process of arriving at a given generalization. It starts from the known to the unknown, from the specific to the general, from the particular to the universal, from simple to complex and from the concrete to the abstract. Deductive method is the reverse of the inductive procedure. Where induction starts with a study of specific cases and ends with a generalization or rule, deduction start with a generalization that is applied to specific cases. Deduction is a process of reasoning from the general to the particular.

Different types of lessons

There are different types of lesson used for the teacher 1st development lesson it is a type of something to be learned in which a new idea is presented and developed. These could be a concept, a principle, a theory, a skill or a generalization. There are two types of developmental lesson the formal and informal, formal it is utilizes deductive and inductive methods; while informal uses the question and answer method or the conversational approach. There are certain steps to be observed in the informal development lesson. These are preparation at this stage consist of the cognitive and motivational aspects of the lesson where the teacher usually reviews or recalls facts or information and experiences related to the lesson. Presentation, the teacher directs the learner’s learning activities by way of presenting motivational questions, coupled with teaching aids. Application it determines whether the learners have learned or not.2nd supervised study lesson, at this stage you need to teach the learner how to study a given subject effectively under the direction and guidance of the teacher. 3rd review lesson, 4th drill lesson, 5th appreciation lesson, it designed to instruct the class to understand, appreciate and enjoy something. It is a combination of understanding and enjoyment. The primary objective of the teacher in appreciation lesson is to plan interesting lessons that will stimulate and induce learners to appreciate what is beautiful and worthwhile. Taxonomy of Educational Objectives

Mr. Reporter deal about Taxonomy of Educational Objectives; taxonomy defines as the practice or principle of classification. He also discussed the three classification of Objectives; Cognitive Domain it emphasize intellectual learning and problem – solving tasks. Behaviors in this domain range from performing simple recall tasks to placing previously learned material into new context and synthesizing bodies of learned information. It is all about mental skills or knowledge. Affective Domain this domain contains behavior and objectives that have some emotional overtones. It encompasses likes and dislikes, attitudes, values and belief; in this domain it involves the growth in feeling or emotional areas. Psychomotor Domain it deals with complexity with attention to the sequence involved in the performance of a motor act. Mr. Reporter also talks about the guidelines for implementing lesson plan; there are two factors to ensure success in the execution of the lesson plan, learner differences in individual or group differences must be considered as you plan your lesson and then teach it. Teachers need to make provisions for learner’s differences in ability, age, background, and reading level. Length of period it is the time or allotted for a subject

Creativity Lesson Plan

To make your lesson plan creative you need to know the objectives, subject matter, materials and media to be used and the nature of the pupils. If you ask a question think it a million times so that your students can answer your question. Bring effective ideas into your class so that you can work on consciously. For example, by teaching classes such as young learners that always want games you should come up with some fun ideas that can also be used with adult and even in other classes. The new tips to make your lesson plan more effective is to make your brain more active. This does not mean writing a different lesson plan for every student in the class, but it does mean that the needs, interests and abilities of all pupils need to be taken into account when planning a lesson, and not just those who have been identified as having specific learning difficulties or are gifted and talented.

Lesson Plan

It is important to have a lesson plan because lesson plan it is a tool of a teacher. It is also a guide which includes the aims and objective, subject matter, materials and devices to be used, time frame, anticipated problems and procedures. Lesson plan defined the teacher’s blueprint. In preparation of a good lesson plan it is important to have an objective, subject matter, procedure, assignment and self check-up by the teacher after writing the lesson plan because through this your lesson plan would be good.  Before making a lesson plan you should answer the two questions 1st what do I plan to teach? 2ndwhat do I want the learners to learn from one lesson that would be worthwhile? The answers to these questions are the objectives; they form the backbone of the lesson.  In motivation methods and materials are organized to achieve the objectives. Establishing objectives ensures against aimlessness. In making a lesson plan it is very important to know the forms of motivation the intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation, in intrinsic it involves sustaining or increasing the interest learners already have in a topic or task while in extrinsic motivation it focuses on cognitive strategies. She also deal about the development, it is sometimes called the outline, can be expressed as topics and subtopics, a series of broad or pivotal questions or list of activities. In making a lesson plans it also important to have a material because by this it helps to the students to motivate faster because there are some students that they learn by looking at the drawing. Before writing a lesson plan

Unit Plan

Ms. Reporter deal about unit plan, unit plan it reflects long- range goals and means of organizing various aspects of the course of study and serves as a basis for developing a set of related daily teaching plans and educational activities. There are five components of unit plan 1stobjective it can be behavioral or non- behavioral 2nd content it includes the three categories knowledge, skills and values 3rd skills 4th learning activities example for these are field trips, debates and buzz sessions, research, reports, experiments and assumptive examinations. She also deals about guidelines for developing unit plan, as a teacher it is very important to have a guideline through guideline you would know how to handle your class. In the guidelines it is all about the teacher how to manage her class room teaching.  She also discussed about the unit plan for Philippine history and government under for this is knowledge, skills and values. In knowledge it is all about the constitution. In skills it is all about how to improve your vocabulary proficiency. In values it is how to develop your attitude especially if you cannot handle it correctly. In preparing a unit plan it is important to have an evaluation because by evaluation you will know if your students have learned about what you have discussed.
